Wear Red Day 2025

Posted 6 months ago by Shaneka Feagin

In honor of Go Red for Women and National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, on February 7th, 2025, the Advanced Practitioners for the River Region wore red.

Did you know that cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer of women? Go Red for Women's Day was founded to raise awareness for women's heart health and save lives. The Advanced Practitioners for the River Region wore red dress pins as a symbol of women's heart health.

Did you know that the rates of new HIV diagnoses among non-Hispanic Black individuals were 7.7 times higher than the rate for non-Hispanic White individuals? National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day was first observed in 1999 to acknowledge how HIV disproportionately affects Black people. This day aims to increase HIV education, testing, community involvement, and treatment among Black communities.
